Homemade granola recipe

Breakfast is one of my favorite meals of the day and my go-to meal is yogurt, granola, and fresh fruit. Homemade granola can be a healthy, comforting, and delicious treat. Most of the store-bought stuff is high in sugar, contains unhealthy fats and oils, and is packed full of fillers and unnecessary ingredients. Whipping up your own at home is super easy, quick, and allows you to control the amount of sugar and quality of ingredients, while also changing things up and adding in the flavors that you love. It also makes your house smell amazing – like you’ve been slaving in the kitchen all day!

My advice is to get creative! This recipe is flexible and easy to modify. Use any combo of healthy ingredients to make it your own flavor. Here are what I used to make my granola:

Dry Ingredients:

  • 200 g of oatmeal
  • 75 g of chopped almonds
  • 50 g of pumpkin seeds
  • 50 g of linseeds

I had some cornflakes left from making a snickers cake so I used these as well:

  • 50 g of cornflakes

Wet Ingredients:

  • 80 g of coconut oil
  • 3 tbsp of honey

Mix dry ingredients together in a large bowl. Heat wet ingredients in a saucepan over low heat until warm, stirring occasionally. Pour over dry ingredients and mix well.

Pour into a baking dish and bake at 200 degrees for 15-20 minutes or until golden-brown, stirring every 5 minutes.

After 15-20 minutes take the baking pan out of the oven and let the granola cool on the counter. If you prefer your granola to be chunky then just leave it be but if not, make sure you stir the granola while it cools.

I love eating my granola on top of greek yogurt and with fresh fruits or berries

Let me know what ingredients you prefer in your granola?
